Supporting the mental health of your child
How can families help their children have good mental health?
Families can nurture a child's mental health by building a close relationship with them, providing structure and boundaries, fostering independence, encouraging social connections, teaching healthy habits and modeling positive behaviour
How can we support children with mental health issues?
Be available to listen if they are having problems or if they just want to talk. Answer questions as honestly as possible, or find someone else who can answer them instead. Reassure them that they are not responsible for how you feel – instead, be a team with your children and help each other at different times
