Hello and Welcome to Elm Class 2022-2023!

Hello everyone and welcome to our class page!  We have just completed our first week and what a week it was.  I have been so impressed with how all the children have settled in so far and I am really looking forward to the year ahead. :)

Please find below information that you will need to know throughout this year.

PE will take place on a Wednesday afternoon Please make sure your child has a PE Kit in school. Children are encouraged to leave their P.E kits in school throughout the whole of a half term as PE time slots are subject to change.  We will send them home at the end of a half term to be cleaned.

Homework and Spelling

Homework will be set every Friday beginning on Friday 23rd September.  The homework will be set on Google Classroom and should be completed by the following Thursday.  If you have any problems regarding homework, please don't hesitate to ask for help. Spellings will also be sent out every Friday.

At New Moston we take a great pride in reading and try to develop a love of reading in the children.  We would love this enthusiasm for reading to continue at home :).  Your child was recently sent home with two reading books.  Once your child has finished reading them, please bring them both back together and we will change them for two new ones.  There is no set date for return.  We expect the children to read at least three times a week at home and this should be recorded inside of your child's diary.

The children will receive two readings books to take home every Monday.

Log In Information

Google Classrom, TT Rockstars, Purple Mash and soon to be added Reading Eggs will be sent home on Friday 23rd September. Please use these apps to support your child at home. :)

If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to ask. :) You can catch me on the playground most mornings or after school once the children have been dismissed.  Alternatively you can contact me through the class email address.

We are looking forward to a fantastic year!

Thank you,

Miss Hewlett and Mrs Armstrong x
