What is mental health?

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices

Mental health problems are very common

  • 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England
  • 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety and depression) in any given week in England

You are NOT alone!

Good mental health is important because it can help you to:

  • Cope with the stresses of life.
  • Be physically healthy.
  • Have good relationships.
  • Make meaningful contributions to your community.
  • Work productively.
  • Realize your full potential.
