As we obviously can't have our class photos this year, Mrs Hindle is putting together a class photo for each class as a lasting memory of this time!

If you would like to have your child added to their class photo I need you to send a head shot (from the shoulders up) of your child to 4J@newmoston.manchester.sch.uk

Important Announcement

Hi 4J,

I hope you are all well and have been enjoying the sunshine. Over the last few weeks I have been keeping myself busy by going on walks with Mia, baking and catching up with friends and family over zoom! We play lots of quizzes and I've learnt lots of interesting facts about the world! Once we're back in school, we could have our own quizzes. 

Today is a lovely, sunny day and I hope you can enjoy it in some way with your families. Mia and I will be heading out into the garden and we may have a picnic.

Hi 4J, 

Just wanted to pop on here and let you all know I'm missing you all very much. Keep your eyes peeled for something being delivered over the next week or so :) If you wanted to write a postcard or letter to me and drop it off at school during your daily walk, that'd be fab! Now although I'd love to receive them and read all about what you have been up to, a teacher is never off duty - neat handwriting, punctuation and description will definitely put an even bigger smile on my face. 

Hopefully we can start looking forward to being back in school soon but until then....

Hello 4J!

It's been 2 whole weeks since we saw each other last and I am really sorry I didn't get the chance to say goodbye properly :( I hope you are all well and not missing coming to school too much. I never thought I'd miss the noisy classroom we have, but I do very much. 

I hope you are enjoying completing your home learning and doing other things with your families. Since school has been closed, I have been spending all my time with my Mia, which has been lovely. She is a little ball of energy and I am more tired now at the end of the day than I was teaching you! I have also been catching up on all my jobs at home: my house has never been so tidy! I have also been keeping my mind busy by completing some jigsaw puzzles and colouring. 

I look forward to seeing you all again soon. In the meantime, stay home, try to get some exercise if you can, be kind and think of how difficult this is for everyone so be good at home!

Numeracy 

04.03.20

Today in numeracy, we used our mathematical knowledge to solve calculations. These calculations were answers to questions Miss Jones had asked us. 

Do you know how many weeks are in a year? How many days are in a leap year? What a millennium is? 

After solving the calculations, we had a quiz, testing our knowledge on days, weeks, months, years and time facts. 

Where have all the puddles gone? 

HOOK

Today, we have a visitor in from Kingfisher Education who works alongside United Utilities to complete a workshop all about water. 

Boring? We think not! We had a fantastic morning and have gained so much knowledge about uses of water, safety hints and tips and made our own Promise to help save water! 

The main ani message we have taken away is how lucky we are to have fresh, clean, running water whenever we want it, unlike millions of people around the world. 

Parent Celebration  13th February 2020

As our end of topic celebration, Parents came in today to see how amazing 4J were at building and testing circuits. Miss Jones allowed the children to become the teachers and showcase their super scientific skills!

Feedback from parents and carers were very positive and a brilliant time was had by all. 

Below are some comments from parents telling us what we have done well:

"My child has enjoyed showing me practical use of the circuits she has been learning about."

This week the children in 4J had a fantastic time, when The Mad Scientist came into school to teach the children about electricity.
