Rowan Class
Science Experiment!
In Science, we have been looking into evolution and Charles Darwin's discoveries on the Golapagos Islands!
This week, we looked into the evolution of birds and the differences in Finches' beaks; thinking how they have adapted to eat different food.
We had to predict which beak we thought would be the best at eating seeds and tested it by using clothes pegs (wide flat beak), small pointed tweezers (small pointed beak) and small flat tweezers (small flat beak).
We gave ourselves 30 seconds to try and pick up as many seeds as possible with our tweezers.
It was lots of fun
My Teachers and handwriting awards this week!
07/05/21
I am so impressed with the dedication to learning everyone has made in Rowan Class this week! Especially in English, thinking carefully on how to improve their vocabulary and editing their work.
My teachers award this week is going to Miley Rennie for being really focused with a great attitude to learn!
My handwriting awards are going to Harley Allen and Sienna Ward! Harley has been really focusing to join his handwriting and Sienna has had neat, consistent, joined-up handwriting that has earned her a handwriting pen! Well done to all! :)
Hero day
Today in school and from home we celebrated all of our key workers who are working hard in these tricky times.
We did lots of activities in school. We wrote poems, did some art work and decorated biscuits.
We all came to school in our rainbow clothes to come together as one community.
