A Guide to Using Google Classroom
WELCOME TO CEDAR CLASS!!
We hope you had a fantastic summer holiday and are ready to work hard and do some great learning in Cedar Class.
It's the start of a new term and a new year in Year 5. It's been a really tough couple of years, but we have got through them together and things are starting to get back to normal. Let's keep working and achieving great things together!
Here is some general information about Cedar Class.
PE will be on a Tuesday and a Thursday or Friday! Please make sure your child as a PE Kit in school. This can be a pair of shorts, a t-shirt, a pair of trainers and a tracksuit/warm clothes for the winter months. The best thing to do is bring your PE kit in on MONDAY and take it home on FRIDAY.
Homework will be set on a Friday to be returned by the following Thursday. This will be set on Google Classrooms like last year. Your child's username and password will be the same as the previous year. The homework will usually be a piece of English, Maths and Topic.
Reading - The minimum expectation is that your child reads at least three times a week at home. This needs to be recorded in your child's reading record and signed by an adult. This record needs to be brought into school every Monday where reading will be checked.
If your child needs to change their reading book, they can bring it into school on any day and it will get changed for them as soon as possible.
Spellings - Your child will be given weekly spellings to learn and these will be given out on a Monday. The spelling test will be on a Friday.
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to speak to us. You can grab us most mornings before and after school and contact us via the email address:
We look forward to having a great year together.....teamwork makes the dreamwork!!
