Our Bug Hotel

Palm have really enjoyed making their bug hotel. 

Thank you if you brought in materials to help us to make this. 

The children had to think which materials would be best to use and then put them together to build a bug hotel to attract the bugs in our garden area. 

Have a look at our photos. We had a great time making it and we will be watching out for the bugs that use our hotel.

Read, Write, Inc

Your child may have come home from school talking about Read, Write, Inc. 

This is a new way we are teaching phonics across the school. Phonics help your child with reading and writing. 

To help you as parents, I have attached some links which may help you to understand what we are teaching, how we are teaching phonics, as well as some useful resources for you to use as well.

I think everyone enjoyed choosing their homework from the grid last half term so you have a different homework grid this half term that links to your new topic-All Creatures Great and Small.

There is a grid with activities for English, Maths and Topic. You can choose which activities you would like to do each week. 

You should complete at least one activity and send it for me to look at on the class e mail page. The address is:

Hi all,

We have now moved our home learning to Google classrooms. This is an excellent portal allowing easy communication of weekly/ daily activities for your class. If you are currently isolating you will need details for login which should be in the front of your child's planner. Please take a photo of this as planners can get lost/damaged.

Palm Home Learning

Hi all,

As expected there are now a few children with different circumstances having to isolate at home. As a result of this I have decided to put some tasks on here (on the home learning section used during our isolation period) each week to keep both guardians and children in touch with the lessons we are studying in school and to provide a bit of normality and structure for home. In addition to this I will also put some well-being activities and help in anyway I can with structure at home.

Hello Palm Class,

I hope you had a lovely summer holiday! 

Bobby and Toby are all walked out and need me to get back to work so that they can have a rest!!

Here’s some bits and bobs of information you need to know. 

We will have PE on Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons and Mrs Kelly-Rimmer will be your class teacher on Fridays. Mrs Bennett is in Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays to help me out.

I’m really looking forward to meeting you all and having some fun and learning lots of new things!
