Charity and Fundraising
At New Moston Primary School, charitable work is an important part of our Personal Development Framework. We want our children to understand the importance of helping others, supporting their community and making a positive difference in the world around them.
Each year, we will invite our school community to nominate charities that we could support. Once nominations have been received, we will create a shortlist and children will have the opportunity to vote for the charities we will support during the year.
Our charity work will be linked to four areas of personal development:
Local Me
This charity should support people or communities in Manchester or the local area.
This helps our children understand the importance of making a positive difference close to home.
Connected Me
This charity should have a connection to a member of our school community, or support children, families or causes that matter to our families.
This helps our children understand the importance of care, connection and supporting others.
Global Me
This charity should support a national or global cause.
This helps our children understand that we can all play a part in making the wider world a better place.
Unique Me
This gives children and families the opportunity to nominate a charity that is personally important to them.
This celebrates individual interests, personal experiences and the causes that matter to our children and families.
How to nominate a charity
Please use the form below to nominate a charity you think New Moston Primary School should consider supporting.
When completing the form, please include:
- the name of the charity;
- which area it links to: Local Me, Connected Me, Global Me or Unique Me;
- why you think this charity would be a good choice for our school to support.
Thank you for helping us develop charitable work that is meaningful, purposeful and linked to our school values of Growth, Standards, Attitude and Pride.
