Pastoral and Inclusion
At New Moston, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, supported, and included. Our pastoral and inclusion work is at the heart of everything we do — ensuring that every pupil, regardless of background, need,
or starting point, can thrive both academically and personally.
We understand that children learn best when they are happy, secure, and understood. That’s why our dedicated team works closely with pupils, families, and external professionals to provide holistic support and personalised
provision that removes barriers to learning and promotes positive wellbeing.
What We Do
Our approach is proactive, not reactive. We focus on early identification, timely intervention, and strong relationships to meet each child’s individual needs. This includes:
● Supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
● Ensuring high standards of behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding.
● Identifying and meeting SEND needs through tailored support and provision.
● Working in partnership with families to ensure consistent care and communication.
● Building pupils’ confidence, resilience, and sense of belonging.
Our Commitment
We are proud to provide a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is seen, heard, and supported. From targeted interventions and bespoke provision to whole-school strategies that embed inclusion into daily practice, our team is here to ensure that no child is left behind.
Together, we aim to develop confident, kind, and resilient learners who are ready to succeed — not only in school, but in life beyond the classroom.
Our Inclusion Pillars
Our work is guided by four key pillars that underpin our approach to inclusion. These principles ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to succeed and that families feel valued and supported as part of our school community.
Belonging
Every child should feel accepted, valued, and part of the school community. We work hard to build trusting
relationships and create safe, inclusive spaces where pupils feel they belong and are ready to learn.
Equity
We recognise that every child is unique. Our role is to remove barriers, provide fair access to opportunities and
resources, and deliver the tailored support needed for all pupils to achieve their full potential.
Voice
Pupils and families are active partners in their journey. We listen to their perspectives, respect their experiences,
and ensure their voices shape decisions that affect their education and wellbeing.
Support
We ensure that the right help is available at the right time. Through early intervention, collaboration with external
agencies, and targeted provision, we build proactive support systems that respond to individual needs.
